How to Set Up Proposal Notification Preferences
How to control which proposal alerts you receive, set a cooldown, configure quiet hours with timezone support, and customise notifications per proposal.
Nudji's notification system has three layers. Each layer can be tuned independently so you get the alerts that matter without the noise that doesn't.
Layer 1 — Global Preferences
Found in Settings → Notifications.
These apply to every proposal. You can toggle each alert type on or off globally:
- First Open
- Reopened
- High Intent
- Multi-Viewer
- Bounce
- Deep Read
Toggling one off globally means that alert type will never fire for any proposal, regardless of engagement.
Available on Starter and above. Free trial users can configure all settings during their 7-day trial. Free plan users (expired trial) can only toggle First Open.
Layer 2 — Cooldown and Quiet Hours (Starter+)
Cooldown
The cooldown is the minimum time between repeated alerts for the same proposal and trigger type.
Example: With a 4-hour cooldown, if a "High Intent" alert fires for a proposal at 10am, it won't fire again for that proposal until at least 2pm — even if the client opens it five more times in between.
Default cooldown is 4 hours. You can adjust this in Settings → Notifications. A shorter cooldown means more alerts; a longer one means fewer, more significant ones.
Quiet Hours
Quiet hours prevent alerts from being sent during times you don't want to be disturbed — for example, between midnight and 8am, or over weekends.
Set your quiet hours window and timezone in Settings → Notifications. When an alert would fire during your quiet window, the email is held and delivered when your quiet hours end. The in-app alert still appears immediately so you don't miss it.
Important: Quiet hours affect email delivery only. In-app alerts always appear in real time.
Layer 3 — Per-Proposal Overrides (Growth+)
Found on each proposal's analytics page under "Notification settings".
Per-proposal overrides let you customise alert behaviour for a specific proposal without changing your global defaults.
Use cases:
- High-value deals: Increase sensitivity — lower the cooldown, enable all 6 types — so you catch every signal on your most important proposals.
- Exploratory/test proposals: Reduce noise by disabling most alert types for proposals you know will have lots of casual opens (demo links shared at events, internal reviews, etc.).
- Proposals sent to colleagues: Disable all alerts temporarily while you share the link for internal feedback.
The overrides mirror the global settings exactly: per-type toggles + cooldown. Quiet hours are always global (timezone-based, not per proposal).
Email Alerts
Email alerts go to the email address on your Nudji account. The subject line tells you at a glance what happened:
- "🔔 Acme Corp just opened your proposal"
- "📖 Someone came back to your proposal — 2 days later"
- "🔥 High intent: opened multiple times, significant reading time"
If an alert is deferred by quiet hours, the subject is prefixed with "While you were away:" to signal that this wasn't immediate.
To disable email alerts entirely, go to Settings → Notifications and toggle Email alerts off. In-app alerts remain active regardless.
Unsubscribing
Every nudge email includes a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it immediately disables email delivery for all future alerts — your in-app inbox is unaffected.
To re-enable email alerts, go to Settings → Notifications and toggle Email alerts back on.
